November 2, 1973, 5:35 p.m., Walnut Bottom Road, Shippensburg Township. An arson fire destroyed a barn and its contents. The barn was used to store parts for H & H Chevrolet. No damage estimate was available for the building; loss to the contents was set at $25,000. Units operated at the scene for five hours. This was just one of a string of arson fires top plaque the Shippensburg area around this time. The
Vigilant Hose Company Stations 1 & 2 and the
West End Fire and Rescue companies battled the blaze.
