On December 26, 1924 at 6:30 a.m. an alarm of fire was sounded for the Hargleroad Bros. Green House on South Prince Street. An overheated furnace caused a fire that destroyed a boiler shed, storage shed, garage and three green houses. Even after the fire firemen remained on the scene assisting the owner. Damages were estimated at $5,000. The

Cumberland Valley Hose companies operated at the scene.
