Attic Apartment Damaged

On September 22, 1992 at 11:23 a.m. Shippensburg firefighters were dispatched to 25 N. Washington Street for a house fire. An accidental fire burnt an attic converted into an apartment. The building is a five-unit 2-½-story frame apartment building. An apartment on the second floor suffered water damage. Approximately 20 firefighters from four companies had the fire was under control in 20 minutes and remained on the scene 1-½ hours. Damages were estimated at $10,000. The Vigilant Hose, Cumberland Valley Hose and West End Fire and Rescue companies battled the blaze.
