House Leveled, Family Homeless

On March 16, 1954 at 1:15 p.m. firemen responded to Newburg R. D. 1, three miles north of Newburg for a house fire. An overheated stovepipe sparked a fire that leveled an occupied six-room house destroying everything inside. A damage estimate was not available and a family of six were left homeless. The Vigilant Hose Company answered the alarm and were able to protect exposures but the house was almost leveled upon their arrival.

I am sorry to add the word verification but recently 88 of my post were spammed in one night. I do not have the time to correct that many post again, so this will eliminate the bullshit.
