125 Chickens Perish In Fire
On March 19, 1950 in the afternoon hours firemen were sent to Hays Grove for a building fire.  A hot bulb sparked a blaze that damaged a brooder house and killed 125 baby chicks.  Firemen were able to save part of the building using a booster line.  A damage estimate was not available.
