500 Chickens Killed In Fire
On April 16, 1929 at 11:00 a.m. firemen were alerted to a fire on the Walnut Bottom Road, three miles east of town.  A fire of undetermined origin destroyed a frame chicken house killing 500 chickens.  Firemen had the blaze under control quickly.  A damage estimate was not available.
