One Vehicle Accident Kills Vigilant Fireman

On September 22, 1987 at 7:00 a.m., a rescue local was sent to Rt. 533 just north of Rt. 11. A dump truck skidded on the wet road, struck a tree and overturned killing the driver. The driver of the truck was long time Vigilant Hose member Roger D. Slieghter. Rest in peace “Slick” we still miss you. The Vigilant Hose and West End Fire and Rescue companies responded.

I can still see Slick sitting in the TV room (when it was where the gear cave is) every morning as I left for work. Slick was definately one of a kind.

E4 Lt, Eyesight and hearing loss can be corrected, but I'm afraid the hair loss is too far gone...

I would assume that was Slick's brother that was a frequent to Vigilant Bingo until last year when he died?
