Fire Damages Home
On June 23, 1940 at 10:45 a.m. firemen were alerted to a fire at the Charles Shields residence, 3 West Burd Street.  Fire started in a refrigerator and burnt through the wall.  A summer kitchen, on the outside of the wall and a bathroom and balcony above were also damaged.  A damage estimate was not available.
