West End Fire And Rescue Company Celebrates 50 Years Of Service

On October 29, 2005 the West End Fire and Rescue Company celebrated their 50Th anniversary with a banquet at the Beistle Plaza. The event was attended by nearly 400 people and featured a dinner, awards to past officers, entertainment and a dance afterwards. Nearly four years of planning went into the weekend activities that included a Chief's reception at the Market Cross Pub on the 28Th and a breakfast at the fire station on the 30Th.

As an outsider to the SFD, I will have to say that Chief White was one of the best to work with, as a mutual aid department, he never left us to sit around and do nothing. Thanks for the fun Jamie

You will have to ask "Chief White" who taught him so much by kicking his ass all over the engine room.

So we have you to blame Jeff.

Greg I don't know what time period you come from so I am guessing you didn't get to work under some of these guys on the stage.

I never liked to pick favorites, I don't mind pointing out the bad, but I won't. I will say a good Chief to fight fire for is the one that knows his men, their strengths and weaknesses and what he can expect from them. That being said I always liked the ones that left me go to work with little said unless I screwed up and then chewed my ass out. And a few of the guys on sttage were like that. Shippensburg has had some good officers over my 31 years and before.

We need an old timers night complete with lies, slides, photos and beer, lots and lots of beer.

Ok Wolfy, you knew that would bring comments.
I think we can all agree Mrs. Jones by far is the best looking followed closely by Mike Cassidy.

Cheers Guys
Have a Great day.
