Another Barn Burns In Pleasant Hall
On May 12, 1987 at 7:52 p.m. firefighters were again alerted to a fire to the rear of the Pleasant Hall Fire station on Route 997. When firefighters from seven companies arrived the second floor of a 2-1/2-story frame shed was involved in fire. Quick work by firefighters limited damage and saved the building. A damages estimate was not available. The cause was listed as arson. The West End Fire and Rescue and the Vigilant Hose companies assisted at the scene along with units from Pleasant Hall Letterkenny, Newburg-Hopewell and another unnamed company. This was one of numerous arson fires to plaque the area in a short time.
